About Me

James oversees the digital activities of Condé Nast International, and also serves on the group’s Executive Committee.  Condé Nast currently operates in 25 countries, publishing 138 magazines, over 100 websites and over 170 tablet and smartphone apps under iconic brands such as Vogue, GQ, Glamour, Wired, Condé Nast Traveller and Vanity Fair

Bilefield has a track record of successfully scaling global digital businesses.  He was formerly CEO of OpenX, the leading independent digital advertising platform, delivering billions of online ads every day around the world.  He was also an early executive at Skype, the internet communications company, where he led global business development and then ran European operations. 

James previously held a range of senior commercial and general management roles at Yahoo!, which he joined after co-founding the local information business UpMyStreet.com following a successful investment banking career at JP Morgan Chase in London and New York City.

Bilefield holds a first class degree in modern languages from the University of Bristol.  He also serves on the UK Government's Digital Advisory Board and sits on the Finance & Strategy Committee of the Science Museum Group.
